The AGM of the Friends of the Settle-Carlisle Line will take place this year on Saturday 24th April at the Hallmark Hotel Carlisle (Formerly The Lakes Court Hotel) which is located adjacent to Carlisle Railway Station.
In addition to the normal discount for rail passengers, they will be pleased to offer a 15% discount off food and hot drinks to all FoSCL members attending the AGM - make sure you bring your membership card.
Please note: this offer does not include drinks from the bar.
This year we have two speakers, Ron Cotton and Geoff Bounds. Ron was the BR manager tasked with closing the Settle-Carlisle line in the 1970's. Geoff was responsible for the line at a later date and has recently retired from Network Rail. If you're not currently a member and would like to hear the speakers, you can join for only £10 per annum for which you also receive our acclaimed magazine four times a year.
