Wildflower Walk

Event details

Date and time: Fri 29 May 2015 (10:00)
Location: Wensleydale
Additional notes:

The Wildflower Walk planned for Friday May 29 will take place as planned, with alternative transport as Wensleydale Railway's trains have been cancelled that day, due to major construction works near Bedale.
A special coach will leave Leeming Bar station at 10am (the time the train would normally depart). It will pick up walkers at Bedale station (10.08), Finghall station (10.20) and Leyburn station (10.35), arriving at Redmire station at 10.50. The 6 mile guided walk - escorted by local botanists - will start from the station at 11am and walkers should bring packed lunch and drinks.
"We are very pleased that a local company is able to provide a coach at such short notice," says walks organiser Mrs. Ruth Annison of Askrigg. "This event is part of the Millenium Trust's annual Flowers of the Dales Festival and we usually find about 60 different kinds of flowers, including some orchids, on this route in May."
To reserve seats on the coach, phone Mrs. Annison as soon as possible on 01969 650349. The cost of the event, including return fares, payable on the day  at the starting station is: Leeming Bar £5, Bedale £4, Finghall £3, Leyburn (and for anyone joining the group at Redmire station) £2.
