SCRCA Project: Notes regarding data control, copyright and usage

The following information relates to all material
associated with the SCRCA Project

Copyright

The copyright for all of the material collected and generated for the SCRCA Project remains with the original supplier / creator of that material except where otherwise stated.

Database rights

The SCRCA Project database was designed and developed by Mark R. Harvey and database rights have been asserted. The design and structure of this database must NOT be used or copied - in full or in part - without prior written consent from Mark R. Harvey. The Friends of the Settle-Carlisle Line have been granted a licence to use and exploit the SCRCA Project database and its content in return for their continuing active support of the SCRCA Project and its stated objectives. This licence may be reviewed and / or revoked at any time.

Data usage

Authorised members of the SCRCA Project Team may use the material gathered or generated for the SCRCA Project for any non-commercial purpose provided that:

  • the intended use is directly connected with the interpretation, understanding, promotion and good management of the Settle-Carlisle Railway Conservation Area; and
     
  • subject to a full acknowedgement to both the SCRCA Project and all relevant copyright holders.

For the duration of the license period, authorised representatives of the Friends of the Settle-Carlisle Line may use the material in a similar manner subject to the same provisions / restrcitions.

To facilitate this 'fair use':

  • Members of the SCRCA Project Team will have access to all of the material relating to the SCRCA Project.
     
  • The majority of the material will be made available to authorised representatives of the Friends of the Settle-Carlisle Line, Network Rail, local authorities and other organisations directly involved with the management of the SCRCA. Where necessary, this will include full-size, unwatermarked copies of images.
     
  • A significant proportion of the material will be made available to the general public via the public section of the SCRCA Project database and via articles in relevant publications. However, images larger than 720 pixels widest side - whether or not they include a visible copyright notice - will not be and must not be circulated or otherwise made available to the general public without prior written consent from the relevant copyright owner(s).

Data control

If you need to contact the Data Controller for the SCRCA Project database, please use the 'Contact us' facility indicating the reason for and precise nature of your enquiry and clearly stating that your enquiry relates to the SCRCA Project.
