Ribblehead Heritage Tours

Our popular Ribblehead heritage walks, trails and tours will get off to a great start during the Ride2Stride festival on Wednesday 26th April. Details of other future dates will also soon be published.

Meet in the yard behind the charming grade II station buildings off the train arriving at Ribblehead at 10.38. We will walk through the Ingleborough nature reserve  and by a Nordic settlement to St. Leonard’s church in Chapel le Dale.  At the church, there will be time for a lunch break and there will be a fun but compassionate theatrical tour of the graveyard where many of those who built this section of the railway are buried. The 8 mile walk includes views of the three peaks surrounding the shanty site and stunning views of the iconic viaduct. On our return, we pass under the viaduct arches to arrive back in good time for refreshments before the 16.14 train to Leeds.
