Ribblehead Walk Wednesday 17th April

Tramways and tunnel trail.

 5 miles

Wednesday 17th April

A slower paced walk to include the viaduct and the area towards Blea Moor tunnel. Photographic opportunities with views of Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough & Whernside. Walk the tramways over the shanty site. Our walk will take us to the aqueduct and view Blea Moor tunnel entrance.  Please bring correct weather wear, walking boots and lunch. Afterwards walk the tramways and view the settlement site on the approach to the viaduct for a brief history of its life and a chance to hunt the fossils in its sedimentary limestone blocks. This replaces the theatre at this event only. There will be opportunity to see artefacts, photos, exhibits, drawings and memorabilia covering the railway history at Ribblehead visitor centre and café on the day.

There is a guided train journey to this event leaving Skipton at 9:58 to arrive Ribblehead 1037.
