Settle Waiting Shelter highly commended

At the Railway Heritage Awards in London recently the new waiting shelter on Settle Station was highly commended.

The building, though brand new, has been constructed according to the Settle-Carlisle Line Design Guide and closely matches the other station buildings.  The project was led and part funded by FoSCL, with contributions from the Railway Heritage Trust, the Settle-Carlisle Railway Development Company and others.  Construction was by local builders Hopleys.
