Dalesrail restarts Sunday 19th May

DalesRail offers passengers the opportunity to enjoy the wonderful Dales countryside on foot led by an experienced guide or the chance to join a tour to discover the hidden history of Carlisle, or to come along simply for a train journey through some of Britain's most beautiful countryside on a special day out.'

Richard Watts, Chair Community Rail Lancashire and Secretary of the East Lancashire and Clitheroe Line Community Rail Partnerships commented:

'DalesRail is simply the best way to enjoy the iconic Settle Carlisle line with direct trains from Lancashire every Sunday from the 19th May until the 8th September.  What's more keeping fit has never been easier with over 50 guided walks available over the 17 Sundays which are led by experienced, volunteer walk leaders from the Lancashire Rail Ramblers. For those who are more adventurous there are coach links on selected Sundays to places such as Swaledale, Wensleydale and Ullswater.  Community Rail Lancashire and the east Lancashire & Clitheroe Line Community Rail Partnerships are delighted to be working with Northern, the Lancashire Rail Ramblers and the Settle Carlisle Partnership in supporting this special service and helping people access by rail the beautiful Dales and Eden Valley countryside.'
