FoSCL walks celebrate Pennine Way anniversary

The Pennine Way, England's longest National Trail, celebrated its 50th anniversary earlier this year.  FoSCL's own programme of free guided walks often use sections of the route as it passes through the western Dales.

To celebrate this anniversary a number of FoSCL Guided walks will be using the Pennine Way during September.  On Wednesday 16 Sep a 15 mile strenuous walk will follow the trail from Haworth to Thornton-in-Craven.  Over the weekend of 19th and 20th Sep two walks will combine to cover the trail from Ribblehead to Hawes (Saturday) and Hawes to Muker in Swaledale on Sunday.  Both of these walks are quite strenuous and about 11 miles each in distance.

For those who do not want quite as much exertion there is a shorter 8 mile walk around Malhamdale on Saturday 19th September.

Full details of all these walks can be found in the Guided Walks section of the web site.
