Garsdale extra stop

We're delighted that the southbound weekday early morning direct train Carlisle-Leeds also stops at Garsdale from 14th May.  Previously it stopped at most other stations, but Garsdale could not be included due to pathing constraints in the Aire Valley.

Working with Network Rail and Northern Rail, FoSCL can take credit for getting the end of engineering possessions brought forward from 6 am so that the train can leave Carlisle earlier.  It now departs at 0550, calling at Garsdale at 0659.  This still allows hardy Glaswegians to catch a London train from Glasgow Central at 0428 and connect with the Leeds train at Carlisle.  And they do!  Most days about 20% of the passengers on this train are from Scotland.

We now look to the good people of Upper Wensleydale to use this train and prove that it was worth while including the Garsdale stop!
