News from Giggleswick Railway Circle

At long last we have got round to issuing the 'Circle' Autumn Programme.

Please note the slight variation in dates from the fourth Wednesday of the month. Hope that is not too much of an inconvenience.

Tuesday 17th September we welcome John Hillier to present the life and times of Jubilee Class 'Bahamas' and the associated Locomotive Society. It should be a fascinating to hear what goes on in the background, restoring and maintaining a main line locomotive. Then there has been the 2 successful runs up and down the S & C earlier this year.

Wednesday 16th October John Whiteley is presenting a digital presentation I have titled 'Something Old Something New'. John is a respected photographer and has a marvellous collection of photographs he has taken from the last years of BR steam to the present day. Hopefully he may bring along some images from the 1930s-ish, not taken by himself I might add, he's not that old!

Wednesday 27 November John Holroyd is going to take us on a journey along the 'Cromford and High Peak Railway'. John has a great affection for the line having been brought up as a youngster in the area. An accomplished railway modeller we may also see some aspects of the line in miniature.

Wednesday 18th December John Cooper-Smith presents 'Through The Lens Part 2'. John, living in Settle, really needs no introduction. If you came last year you will know what to expect, more of his superb images. And as it's nearly Christmas I must remember the mince pies.
