The building, though brand new, has been constructed according to the Settle-Carlisle Line Design Guide and closely matches the other station buildings.  The project was led and part funded by FoSCL, with contributions from the Railway Heritage Trust, the Settle-Carlisle Railway Development Company and others.  Construction was by local builders Hopleys.
